Youth work

It is very important for us to keep the youth work in our organisation at a high quality level. In 1992, Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of Wales became a charity and we have received many awards to accredit our quality standard. These include awards by Investors in People and Quality Mark.

We support our member clubs to improve their quality by providing advice on how to achieve a recognised quality standard and how they can gain charitable status. Additionally, every member club receives our Club Handbook which gives practical advice on how to deliver quality youth work to young people. We provide all leaders and volunteers with the opportunity to undertake the Level 2 Award in Youth Work and the Level 3 Certificate in Youth Work. These awards are delivered in partnership with Adult Learning Wales.

Trustees, volunteers and leaders who would like to gain further understanding of youth work and gain an entry level  2 qualification also have the chance to take part in the Induction Programme “A Stepping Stone to Youth Work” by CWVYS.
