Subway to Success

In 2018-2019 we ran our Subway to Success programme via Active Inclusion. BGCWales worked with Subway restaurants to support young people in gaining a 16 or 24 week paid work placement at Subway restaurants in 7 areas of Wales.

Through funding from Active Inclusion we were able to work with 16 young people (in total) from Denbighshire, Conwy, Swansea and Bridgend (West Project) as well as 16 young people (in total) from Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan and Wrexham (East Project). 32 young people participated in the project and 12 of them have gone on to be employed after their placement ended.

We hope to be able to provide this opportunity to young people in Wales again soon because we believe it's a fantastic opportunity for them to gain experience and receive support throughout from our youth workers.
