BGC Wales eNewsletter🌼 March 2024

Our Strategy 2024-28 Launch Day went successfully! We were excited to share with Trustees, staff and club leaders our goals as we move towards our centenary in 2028. A huge thank you to The Mem in Nantymoel for hosting the event. The work you do at your club, hospitality and hard work is greatly appreciated.

Despite the ongoing Estyn Inspection, we are continuing organising our international work and loads of exciting activities happening. It is great to see all the brilliant work being done with our partnership working with both NPT Youth Service and Blaenau Gwent Youth Service. Our Youth Forum have been chosen as the Runner Up of the UK Parliament Week Champion of the Year Award!

This February at BGC Wales, our Trustees, staff and member clubs have been actively engaged in preparations for the Estyn's pilot Inspection. Estyn is eager to explore how the voluntary sector contributes to youth work for the young people in Wales. Meanwhile, exciting times for our sports - our Rugby Representative Teams have undertaken International planning visits whilst the Football Panel is gearing up for their upcoming trials, whilst we are set to launch our new strategy.

Welcome to our January eNewsletter! We hope everyone has had a nice break and returned to a fresh start!

At BGC Wales, we have started with two fantastic opportunities for young people to be part of our football boys' and girls' representative teams. Our project staff are actively coordinating for the upcoming Taith projects, whilst The Lodge is gearing up to welcoming visitors. The Executives and Management Team are diligently working towards the establishment of the new Charitable Incorporated Organisation.

The Trustees and staff from BGC Wales wish you all a Merry Christmas and a prospective new year in 2024. This is a sentiment that has been expressed by Sir Stanley Thomas, former BGC Wales President, who recently contacted the office to pass on this same message to everyone associated with the organisation. This November has been quite a busy month for the organisation - The most significant was the change of our charity structure to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) which we celebrated at our EGM/AGM on 15th November 2023. A lot more have been going on. Annual Report for the activities in the past 12 months was presented at the EGM/AGM. It is now available online!!!

Welcome to our October eNewsletter! This month, we have been extremely busy as we have welcomed youth leaders from the United States, BGC Mexico, BGC South Africa and BGC Rwanda to our Lodge Activity Centre. Our sporting teams have also been busy playing fixtures both home and abroad, whilst new staff and projects, including the Police Youth Volunteers Project have started well. Amongst all this we are preparing for our EGM/AGM scheduled for November. Please enjoy reading

Welcome to our September E-newsletter! As our project team taking a small break from youth exchanges, we have kick-started our Sports Season 2023/24! As the Rugby sections started their Talent IDs and Trials, entry form for Football boys Federation Cup is now available, and the Boxing section is preparing for the Boxing Championships Competitions. New exciting projects such as Democratic Engagement and Police Youth Volunteers are also imminent - please see details.

The summer has been a hectic time at BGC Wales with all four Football teams having matches against BGC Scotland and the annual Youth Exchange with our partners in Germany taking place. Although we have just finished the Football season the work has started for our Rugby and Boxing sections with key dates happening soon for the 2023/24 programme - please see details below.
